Let the voting begin . . . Pets on Quilts (Closed)

It's time to vote! (VOTING IS CLOSED NOW. Thank you to everyone who voted!)

We will be choosing our viewers' choice winners! How do you do this?  You will leave a comment [on this post] with your choices in these categories:

Dog on quilt - number 105
Cat on quilt - number 430
Other animal on quilt - number 212
Animal themed quilt - number 119

Got the idea? It's easy-peasy! (Grin)

Now, here's some exciting information about the random drawings. There are lots of possible entries! You can leave a separate comment for each entry and tell me if you:

              1. Participated in the show
                   2. Commented on all the entries (I know there were one or two
that you could not comment on, but if you did all the rest, leave
                       a comment to tell me!)
                   3. Posted the badge for the show on your blog (10 more entries)
                   4. Posted on Facebook (5 more entries)
                   5. Chirped on Twitter (5 more)
                   6. Emailed your buds to tell them about it (5 more)
                   7. Hopped over to all of the sponsor pages to look around
                   8. Made a blanket or bed for the Padsworth project (10 more entries,
but you must post on the project linky party to verify)

Wow! You see, you can leave lots of comments for those extra entries! We're serious about wanting to have lots of winners!  Don't forget to click here to see our Sponsor Hall of Fame, and to refresh your memory of the adorable pets in our show!

Yes, it is perfectly permissible to ask your bloggy and/or quilting friends to come and vote -- with one caveat . . .  please, PLEASE ask them to vote for the other categories, too, not just the one that your furbaby is in! We want everyone to have fun at our party!

The voting will be open for a week: it will close on next Thursday, September 3.

Then, Snoodles, Padsworth, and DragonDrop will sharpen our pencils (we're old-school, ya know!) and tally the results.
We'll announce just as soon as we possibly can.

Now, I know that there is no way that I can respond to all of the comments we will get, so please don't be offended if you don't hear from us! (Grin)

Let the voting begin!

Pets on Quilts 2015

Today is the day! Our show begins!

I hope everyone is ready!

You can see that Padsworth and DragonDrop are ready! They got all dressed up, but hey, you don't have to . . . this is a virtual party. You can attend in your jammies and your bunny slippers, or you can get all dolled up and wear your bling!

This party would not be possible without our generous sponsors! (Waving) Thank you to each and every one of them!

Vrooman's Quilts is graciously providing a layer cake of cute fabric: Best in Show by Kanvas for Benartex

Bejeweled Quilts by Barb is providing one of our winners two of her wonderful patterns and an assortment of 40 five inch batik squares by Island Batiks

Marcia of Crafty Sewing and Quilting is providing each of three lucky winners their choice of one of her great pdf patterns

Abbi Mays fabric shop - one lucky winner will receive a gift certificate for $35 to spend in the store!

Terri Stegmiller -  Two winners will each receive this cute pattern: "Pickin Flowers"

The Fat Quarter Shop is sponsoring two winners this year! Two of our Pet Show winners will each receive a $50 gift certificate to shop with!

Green Fairy Quilts is supplying one of our winners with a lovely jelly roll of "Evergreen"!

Our newest sponsor is J and O Fabrics -  they are sponsoring a gift certificate for $50 so that one winner can enjoy shopping at their online store!

Padsworth's Project is sponsoring an assortment of Colonial Needle notions for a lucky winner!

Now, I know that you are all excited, but we need to go over the rules. You know, we do have to have some. Here is how our show works:

      1.  Make certain that you link to that particular blog post,
not just the "Home" or the "Splash" page of your blog.
We want the hoppers to be able to easily land
on the post that features your pet or pet-themed quilt.
      2.  Be sure to have a "backlink." By that, we mean that
you will have a link in your post (or your Flickr
description) that hoppers can click to go right back to
           the linky party fun!

      3.  Please make sure to stop in at the Lilypad every day,
and see who has joined the fun. You will be given the
chance at the party close, to say that you left comment
love for all of the participants! That will earn another
           entry in the drawings!

      4.  Please be certain to follow the "Thumper Rule" as you
leave your comments . . . leave positive and kind words
behind you when you leave. (Grin)

      5.  Be sure that you state which category your entry is to
be considered in -- this is for the viewers' choice awards.
GACK! I need to tell you the categories, don't I? (Grin)
OK, here you go: dog or pup on quilt, cat or kitten on
quilt, other animal on quilt, or animal-themed quilt!

      6.  If you would like to have two entries, please separate
them into two blog posts, or a blog post and a Flickr
photo (or two Flickr photos). No more than two entries
           per person, OK?  OK!

      7.  I recall that some of our partiers used googleplus last
year, and that leaving comment love was problematic.
It seems that not all of the playgrounds on the internet
have easily-navigated gates between them. Let's say
that google plus is ok this year, but you need to let the
partiers send you comments -- leave a note with your
email for them on your google page. You can do it this
way: person(at)gmail(dot)com or something similar. If it
is at all possible, use a blog or a Flickr post - those work

       8. If you don't have a Flickr page, post here at the
           page for 2015:
OK, let's see now. We told you who is sponsoring, and we laid out the rules; what comes next?

We party! I'm looking forward to this!

We will leave our linky party open for ten days, to allow everyone a chance to join in and add their linky. The voting will begin on the 27th, and then a week later, we'll announce our winners!

Let's party!

Creative Goodness Party!

Have you seen the fun each week at QuiltShopGal's blog? You should hop over there and check it out!

I wanted to share in the fun, so I'm showing off my Alphabet Quilt that I made recently -- for a brand new grandma! This is definitely a "kid-friendly" project!

Each block in the quilt stands for a letter . . . airplanes for A, bugs for B, ears of corn for C, etc.

I free motion quilted it, mostly outlining the inhabitants of each block.

Lattice strips separate the blocks, and plain green blocks fill in the corners, to make it square -- the plain blocks are great for personalizing your quilt for the recipient! You can put all kinds of things; you might put the baby's name, the date of birth, etc.  I put the grandma's name, since she will be using it at her house.

You can see from the top picture that the backing is fleece, in a cute construction equipment print.

Click on this linkie to go back to the Creative Goodness party at QuiltShopGal's blog -- enjoy the fun!

Our Pet Show party starts next week!!

Tying up loose ends . . .

Just a quick post to let you know, we didn't hear from our no-reply winner, so we drew again!
That disappearing nine-patch from Quilter's Way needs a home!

Marjorie (from Marjorie's Busy Corner) is the winner of the disappearing nine-patch kit from Quilter's Way! Congratulations!

I know you will enjoy the kit!

Thank you, Quilter's Way, for being such a great sponsor!

Hope you are all getting ready for the show! Only a few more days to wait!

Check out our new Pet Show sponsor! Wow!

(Click here to go to our Cozy Afternoon giveaway)

Hear those trumpets?

Padsworth, DragonDrop and I (Snoodles) would like to introduce you to our newest sponsor!

Put your paws together for this generous sponsor for the show . . . did you know the Pets show starts on the 17th? Woot!

Do me a favor, won't you? Hop over to their Facebook page and "like" it, or gallop over to their Pinterest page and follow! Check out their blog here and please sign up for their email newletters for sales and promotions!

Why do I ask you to do those things? Because that helps our sponsors know that we've introduced all of you special peeps to their wonderful online stores! AND, because you are going to be so inspired by all they offer!

J and O Fabrics is going to be your "go to" for so many types of fabrics . . . from upholstery to drapery, from dress fabrics to NFL and MLB, and much more!

I was especially impressed with their selection of novelty fabrics -- check out this link to that part of their store.

I believe they may have every animal you could want . . .

                                   (what does the fox say?)

Padsworth is partial to this print, for some reason. (Grin)

Anybody need a "how tall am I?" panel? This is cute!

I feel an "I -Spy" quilt coming on!

From mice to moose, J and O Fabrics has you covered!

Want other novelty fabrics?

Let's talk Betty Boop!   And baseball!

And cats! (just for you and Smitty and Gracie, Barbara!)

And colleges!

Whew! You're just going to have to hop over there and see for yourself!

One lucky Pets on Quilts show winner will be able to shop all of these fabulous fabric finds (awesome alliteration?) with the prize that J and O Fabrics is sponsoring:

A $50 gift certificate for one lucky winner!

We're so excited that the show is almost here! Are you ready?

Cozy Afternoon Block 4 and Giveaway !

This giveaway is closed now, but thank you for your interest!

Are y'all ready for the latest in our block of the month? This has been so much fun, and this block is really cute!

Oh, I need to let you see it a little closer, don't I? Let's zoom in!

I love the mug on this block . . . no fragile cups for this quilter -- we go full bore here in the studio, with great big mugs of java or tea! (grin)

Isn't this little bird adorable?

Love how these colors look in this block:

Here's another peek at how they are playing together:

Didn't get my points exactly right, but hopefully it won't be too noticeable when the whole top is sewn together!

Here is another shot of the whole block:

Today is the start of the August giveaway for the Cozy Afternoon Block of the Month! Look what is up for grabs this time!

Want to win?  Leave a comment and let me know if you prefer a cup or a mug when you partake -- if you are a follower you can let me know that in a second comment.
